Opening of Skills4Life Program
To uphold His Majesty the King’s Vision to provide opportunity for lifelong learning for the support staff – Skills4Life Program, Lhuentse Dzongkhag Administration started the first batch of basic skills training in Carpentry, Domestic House Wiring and Tailoring for ESP and GSP staff.
The opening ceremony was held on 8th April, 2023 at Lhuentse Higher Secondary School (Lhuentse Cluster) in a simple setting by offering Zhabten to His Majesty the King. In the opening remarks, the Chief Guest Dasho Dzongdag highlighted that, “Skills4Life Program is His Majesty the King’s vision to initiate a program to enhance the capabilities of our current workforce through the culture of life-long learning.”
The training program is organized by mobilizing in-house resource person and based on the training need assessment of ESP and GSP staff. For the first batch, 14 ESP and GSP staff have opted for tailoring training, 7 ESP and GSP staff have opted for Carpentry training and 8 ESP and GSP staff have opted for Domestic House Wiring training. The Dzongkhag Administration will soon roll-out next batch of Skills4Life Program in Autsho Cluster and Tangmachu Cluster in coming weeks.
