Ney lhakhaang was built by lama Zhang. According to legend Lama Zhang is said to have pledged before Tertoen Pema Lingpa to build 108 lhakhangs, the pledge was made because he lost an exhibition of supernatural power against Tertoen Pema Lingpa.

The unique feature of its architecture is that all the doors of the lhakhang face south.The main statue of the lhakhang is a Buddha Statue.
